the term "hospital grade" is not regulated and has become a marketing tactic. None of the "hospital grade" commercial and battery-operated pumps can be used by hospitals except closed-system multiuser piston pumps (such as Ameda Platinum and Pearl)

Ameda Pearl is a new version of the Ameda Platinum pump, and is preferred by parents. It is smaller, lighter and quieter, with a light and backlit screen for nighttime pumping.
